Health of yard trees #880282

Asked August 05, 2024, 2:35 PM EDT

We live in the southwest hills of Eugene: 2080 Shields Ave. We have about 30 trees on our .34 acre lot, several of which are fairly large. I'm concerned about their long-term health in this multi-year drought. I have increased the amount of irrigation I give them, but am not sure I'm doing the right thing. The Douglas-firs must be used to getting very little water in the summer months, but what about maples and oaks? Does your organization make spot visits and advise Eugene residents? If you do, I would appreciate such an interaction. John Carter <personal data hidden>

With respect to a site visit you would need to check with the Oregon State Extension Lane County office - https://extension.oregonstate.edu/lane
