Linden Tree Issue - Raised Brown Spots and Leaf Curling #880234

Asked August 05, 2024, 11:18 AM EDT

Hello - Our linden tree is experiencing trouble this year. It started to leaf out in the spring, but the leaves have since developed raised, brown growths and are curling. In addition, the leaves are thinning out, with some branches looking bare. Thank you for any advice you can offer!

These raised bumps are galls.  They don’t do permanent damage.  See:

Bare branches are a different concern and you may wish to have an arborist do an onsite assessment of this issue.
