Hi Barb,
I'm sorry, I don't know what is but it sure looks like some tree seedling to me. It does look familiar. Pull it up is all I can tell you. My guess is that that it's a seed from a tree near you. Sometimes seedlings can look nothing like the mature version of the tree.
