Brown spots in my lawn #880134

Asked August 04, 2024, 1:12 PM EDT

My lawn is sod that was put down after we moved in two years ago. This year for some reason I am getting brown spots all over my lawn. we have a sprinkler system so its getting enough water. 1/3 of our yard on the north side of the house has good shade and is doing great. The rest gets full sun and it looks very bad with 10 inch spots that are brown or yellow all over the lawn. we apply basic scotts fertilizer in a 4 step process. again the shaded area gets the same treatment. and does well. Overall we feel the sodded areas don't ever get as nice as they should. What are we missing for the areas with full sun.

This first web page has the best explaination of how this may be caused by our wet weather. You may be applying too much fertilizer.
