Hello - I live in Crownsville and am actually a master gardener also. I found this spotted lantern fly this morning and thought I should report it .

It contains a link to report to the Maryland Department of Agriculture, which is still tracking them.
As an MG, please share with your clients that we are not recommending any pesticide use. They (similar to the brown marmorated stinkbug who came before them) are expected to be a nuisance for a while, but they are not threatening the health of our trees and other plants, other than grapes. (Which farmers are dealing with well).
