What is causing cucumber leaves to die? #879938

Asked August 02, 2024, 3:09 PM EDT

We have several varieties of cucumber plants that all seem to be developing the same problem. The leaves nearest the ground are all developing spots and then dying off. The plants are trellised, and the upper portions seem to be ok for now. The fruit does not seem to be affected. Thanks

This is a fungus that is probably caused by the weather we have had.  There is not a lot you can do.  You could try a fungicide, but I’m not sure it will help.  If you decide to try this route, follow instructions on the label.

To try and slow the infection down, remove the affected leaves totally from your garden and when the plant is finished, totally remove it and all debris.

There has been a lot of fungus issues this summer.  It’s part of gardening and dealing with Mother Nature.
