Turkish Veronica appears to be dying in beds facing northwest. I live in Aurora CO. I have attached 2 photos. These plants were healthy in Spring. There is a drip irrigation system watering these plants. The system runs 3 days a week for about 10-12 minutes on this Zone. The drip emitters are 1 gpa. The plants are in several places along the drip line, but most are looking ‘burned’. Not enough water, too much water, or just too much sun this summer??
What can I do to help these lovely plants? They are supposed to be drought tolerant.
Arapahoe County Colorado

Thank you for your question and for sending photos.
Turkish veronica is a beautiful plant as you say. This summer has been brutally hot for all plants in the landscape. Turkish veronica is drought tolerant once established. Your watering schedule seems adequate for this plant. The plant does not look to be overwatered or under-watered. However, this variety of creeping veronica is less vigorous than some of the other varieties. The mature spread for this plant is only 12"-18". As the plant grows, some areas will die back as it continues to spread. You can carefully clear out some of the dead areas. It looks like you have some new growth that may spread to fill in the areas that are now dead. You can replace the dead areas with new plants if you wish.
I hope this information has been helpful. If you have further questions, please respond to this email. If you could send your zip code that would be most helpful. This would be for our internal use only so we can track where in the county our clients reside. Thank you.
