Juniper dying from the inside out #879837

Asked August 01, 2024, 10:50 PM EDT

We have 2 Broadmoor Junipers that are each on one side of our driveway and in the last 30 days they both have turned brown from the inside out. Is it a bug, disease or what?

Anoka County Minnesota

Expert Response

Were they ever wired to keep a particular shape next to your driveway? If they were wired to hold their shape, the bark has expanded around the wire, the tree's circulation has been cut off. Check the tree needles with a magnifying glass to see if any insects or spots appear.
See the blight description on these web pages.
