Leaf abnormality #879813
Asked August 01, 2024, 6:46 PM EDT
Customer contacted us saying they recently purchased a wisteria (not sure this is correct by looking at the foliage) that has the leaf tips curling up tightly. A small portion of the plant shows this unusual effect. Foliage looks healthy otherwise.

Expert Response
Since many of the leaf tips and some leaf margins are miss-shaped I am suspecting an abiotic problem. Something has caused the growth of those portions to stop growing while the rest of the leaf continues to grow normally. It is hard to tell but it could also be a certain age class of leaves affected. My guess would be an application of herbicide, such as 2,4-D, that drifted to the plant from a distance. There could be other reasons but in the end the plant should survive and do just fine.
