Hi Kathy, thanks for the question.
It appears that these corn leaf aphids may have blown in from the south The pumpkins are probably safe since it is not a host plant for these visitors. Corn, on the other hand, can suffer some problems such as reduced photosynthesis from reduced light due to sooty mold. Check out the following links for more information:
