Thanks for your question.
We are strictly an on-line forum consisting of Master Gardeners from throughout Minnesota. We do not return calls and only operate on an electronic basis. I think what you want to know is information about certain lawn chemicals. I am having difficulty from your question in knowing what specific chemicals in which you are interested. There are several different fertilizers made by Dimension. Even with the information you provided, there are many possibilities. All safety information must appear on the product label of the fertilizer. If the application instructions on the product bag are carefully followed, there should be no safety concerns.
Thanks for consulting us.

Thanks for getting back to us with clarification on your question.
As I said in my previous response, Dimension is somewhat of a trade name that covers a variety of products. I believe in your particular situation, it might be a pre-emergent herbicide with the active ingredient dithiopyr. This chemical is commonly used to control grasses and broadleaf weeds. Here is some information about it:
The TZone herbicide that you mentioned contains triclopyr as an active ingredient. It is specifically directed towards various broadleaf weeds. Here is some information about it:
Lastly the 25-0-6 granular fertilizer is one containing 25% by weight nitrogen, 0% by weight phosphate, and 6% by weight potassium. This is a standard type of lawn fertilizer.
Any herbicide, including the two used on the yards on your property, must be applied according to the directions specified for that herbicide. If bodies of water are nearby, there may be special application instructions provided. You will have to determine yourself whether appropriate application was done. I have no way of determining this. In short, just because some type of chemical may be potentially dangerous, how it was applied is the most important.
Good luck and thanks for consulting our forum.

Thanks your last response.
Dimension 2EW is exactly the herbicide for which I earlier sent you information. The active ingredient is dithiopyr. Here is the information contained on its product label:
“This product is toxic to fish and highly toxic to other aquatic organisms including oysters and shrimp. Use with care when applying to turf areas adjacent to any body of water. Drift and runoff from treated turf may be hazardous to aquatic organisms in water adjacent to treated areas. Do not apply directly to water, or to waters where surface water is present, or to intertidal areas below the man high water mark. Do not apply when weather conditions favor drift from treated areas. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment washwater or rinsate”

Here is what the EPA states regarding this herbicide:

Again realize the majority of herbicides contain components that potentially have harmful effects.. As I mentioned in my earlier response, when application procedures are followed according to the product label, these environmental impacts should be minimized.
Thanks for your concern. Please get back to us with any further questions.
