Aster Yellows? #879312

Asked July 29, 2024, 5:25 PM EDT

I am wondering if my Incrediball Hydrangeas have Aster Yellows disease? I have an entire hedge of these and ripping them out rootball and all would be catastrophic to my landscaping. I want to confirm before I do so. I have a lot of beautiful blooms within this hedge but also these sad looking ones.

Expert Response

Hi Kristi,

I'm afraid this does look like aster yellows or another virus.

The virus cannot be cured, to eliminate it in your yard you need to pull the plants. I'm sorry.

Here's a page that shows similar virus signs:

Sorry for the bad news.
