Moving tulip bulbs #879248

Asked July 29, 2024, 1:30 PM EDT

Hi. I want to move tulip bulbs to a new house. They have been coming up every year for about 38 years in their current location. I just dug up some of the bulbs. Is it best to store the bulbs and plant them in the fall or should I put them in the ground now? What is the best way to store them if this is the best option? Thank you.

Expert Response

I think you could do either option. Stored bulbs should be kept dry and cool, but not frozen. See these web pages.
