Tomato leaf curl #879213

Asked July 29, 2024, 10:45 AM EDT

Hi! I'm growing plate d'Haiti tomato in a high tunnel for seed saving on our farm and noting leaf curl. Last year we also had challenges with blight on our tomatoes in the high tunnel. Could you confirm the issue with this plant and advise on any actions we should take? Thank you!

Expert Response

Hi Danielle,

This looks like chlorosis  which can be caused by many things from over-watering to improper soil pH to mites.

I would start by checking the pH of your soil or growing medium. Tomatoes thrive in soil of 6.2-6.8 pH. Also examine the leaves for any insect activity and check how much you are watering and when. It does not look like a fungus or tomato blight.

Chlorosis should not affect your seed saving.

Good luck.
