Black fungus #878992

Asked July 27, 2024, 10:20 AM EDT

I have a tree with black fungus. When we saw it last year we cut off every branch we could see the fungus on but it is back. Do you have people that come and give advice about whether we should cut it down?

Expert Response

Hi Susanne,

Thank you for reaching out to us at the UNH Extension Infoline!

We do not have services/capacity to provide home visits through UNH Extension. However, we frequently share a list of NH certified arborists who can go to your property to assess your tree's health and if it needs to be taken down. I will include a few resources with you below. I will also share our plant diagnostic lab information if you ever need to submit a sample for 100% diagnosis! I hope this information helps!
