Identify and remedy growths on stem of tomato plant. #878964
Asked July 26, 2024, 7:19 PM EDT
Greetings.
I am seeing some type of growth on the stem of one of my tomato plants. Can you determine what issue I may have and the remedy for it. This is on a yellow hybrid tomato plant that produces small tomatoes for salads. This plant and another yellow hybrid share a cloth container that is approximately 12 in in diameter and one foot in height. I only see this on one of the plants. Please see the attached image.
Thank you.

Looks like you have some adventitious roots there.
No cause for alarm, and nothing needs to be done. They are totally normal. If they were placed in the soil, normal roots would grow. Tomatoes have a great ability to form new roots.
