Expert Response

We don't see any symptoms of concern on the trunk pictured; can you specify what issue is concerning? If you are referring to the long, slightly paler-colored scarring, that might be from years-old cicada egg-laying damage, since it seals-over fully in most cases and simply becomes a fading vertical scar over time. We do not see any issue that would requite intervention or treatment, but feel free to share additional photos if the tree is struggling.
