Tomato problems #878755

Asked July 25, 2024, 2:20 PM EDT

We have tomatoes in a wooded raised bed. The leaves have turned color and are curling. The is fruit on the plants. The farm that started the seedlings thought it could be splash but we use drip irrigation. Now we have a varmint that gets on the leaves and feasts on the tomatoes. (Sorry all I have is a picture of the dropping) 2 problems-any help is much appreciated

Expert Response

Hi Marty,

Thank you for reaching out to us at the UNH Extension Infoline regarding your tomatoes.

It is tricky to be 100% sure what the one cause is for the yellowing leaves/curling, but it is possible this may be related to blight or yellow leaf curl. I am going to share a few resources with you below for possibilities and also our plant diagnostic lab. You can submit leaf samples directly to the lab to get 100% accurate results.

If you have any photos with close ups of the leaves/tomatoes that are damaged by possible pest/insects, that would be extremely helpful for further IDing + research!
