Expert Response

Hi Elena,

Thank you for reaching out to us at the UNH Extension Infoline.

I am sorry to hear that you're dealing with chipmunks in your garden. This is common gardening issue! The ability to completely get rid of chipmunks being a nuisance is a challenge. I will share a few resources with you below for options you can try. Good luck!

It is extra tricky here because it is recommended at times to use a animal repellent specifically for chipmunks. However, that would most likely not work for your specific issue in relation to tomatoes since you'll be eating them later. Have you tried any other sort of physical barriers that may keep the chipmunks out of the tomato area?
