Dahlia plant leaves with white spots #878696

Asked July 25, 2024, 9:41 AM EDT

My dahlia plants have white spots on top of leaves with corresponding black spots on the underside of leaf. Any suggestions on how to correct?

Expert Response

Good afternoon Jeff,

Thank you for your question! It looks like you have a sucking insect, maybe thrips, or it could be another sucking insect. There also may be a fungus on the edge. I’d recommend emailing the MSU Plant and Pest Dagnostic lab for confirmation with pictures, including one of the whole plant, and any plant history- how they water, what chemicals they applied. You can reach them @ <personal data hidden>.
