I have some small black bugs apparently killing the turf in my yard and turning it brown. The turf just lifts off the soil without any root formation. Any idea what type of bug this might be and how to control it.

Here is a list of insects. Have you actually seen the bugs? If you don't see the actual bug on this list you can send in some photos and I can try to identify it.
