I am trying to figure out what is growing under my squash and strawberries. It is white and porous appearing and squishy to the touch.

Thank you for reaching out to us. This appears to be a classic case of Slime Mold. It can appear when an environment has warm temperatures, soil is wet and humid. Easy to treat. You can rake it up, break it up and dry it out or forceful spraying with water. In your case, you may want to rake it out since it is in bedded with your squash and strawberries. Good circulation is important around your squash. Remove lower leaves, extra stems that aren't involved with fruit. Water in the morning at the base not over the plants.
