Our ten year old crabapple tree has lost most of it's leaves. The fruit is small and dried up and it's only July! The bark looks fine. How can I save it?

It looks as if your tree has apple scab, which is a fungus. I don't think you will lose your tree. There are actions you can take to lessen the chances of your tree suffering this next year. Here is a link describing what you can do to help your tree:
