Expert Response

Grasses can be difficult to ID. You often need to look at multiple parts of the plant to make a positive ID including the seed heads, roots, ligules, blades, and stems, but we think it's actually Bermudagrass, based on the seed heads. Another option is maybe Goosegrass, but the foliage in the photos don’t look wide or low-lying enough for that. You might want to try to ID in person by looking at some photos and a key on Ohio State Extension’s turfgrass and grassy weed ID page

Since you are in Montgomery County and there are pesticide laws in place for turf grass areas, your options for control are either to dig it out, burn it back with organic herbicide or just leave it and deal with it as part of your lawn.
