What is happening with lilacs this year? #878533
Asked July 24, 2024, 9:55 AM EDT
We have several properties with lilacs used as hedges around the perimeter. Powdery mildew is evident (evident on some of the new, succulent shoots), but ALL of the lilac leaves are wilting turning brown around the entirety of both properties. It looks really concerning. Is this yet another symptom of powdery mildew or is something else also impacting them?
Anoka County Minnesota
Expert Response
It is probably bacterial blight of lilac.
