My Marmo Maple was scratched by deer antlers a couple of years ago, and I recently noticed some new growth where the bark is missing. Are these new vein-like growths normal or is my tree sick? Thank you!

I'm not sure what you are describing as new vein like growths. If the tree has leafed out on all sides, then the circulation is still possible to the top of the tree. Put a barricade around the tree to prevent further damage. Something like woven wire that surrounds but does not touch the bark.
