My friends bought a Burgundy Bell Maple a little more then a month ago. And it is starting to have some brown spot on the leaves. They are concerning because they have oak trees in their yard that they think have oak wilt and didn’t know if maples could get that too. They aren’t extremely close to eachother. They have a large yard

Thank you for your question and pictures. To put your mind at ease, maple trees can't get Oak Wilt disease. It only occurs in oak tree species. The maple tree is suffering from a leaf spot disease, which is caused by many pathogens. Here's an article with pictures from Extension:

If your friends bought their tree to a nursery with a guarantee, I would take the pictures and show them to the nursery team. They will have recommendations for them.
