Small Riparian Buffer/Stream bank vegetation #878415

Hello,
We are trying to come up with a plan for next year to develop a riparian buffer/incorporate stream bank vegetation lining the edge of a river we have flowing through our property.
I was hoping to get recommendations on what type of vegetation, specifically flowers, shrubs, and low maintenance grasses that won't out compete others. Any advice would be helpful!
Thank you!

Hello! I would be happy to help.
Do you know the soil type and pH of the area that you will be planting? Is it in full sun, part -shade, or full shade? Or does that vary along the waterway?
Will you be managing the plants? Are your plans to mow or reduce the vegetation at all throughout the year?
Thanks for your responses to my questions and look forward to working with you. Amy

Thank you, Amy.
I do not know the pH, but our soil is sandy. Along the waterways it varies between full sun and partial sun.
We are hoping for native plantings that are low maintenance and bolster pollinator forage and habitat. Also, we are hoping to reduce our mowing so in place of turf we want lovely plants.
Best,
Sara
