Do you know the soil type and pH of the area that you will be planting? Is it in full sun, part -shade, or full shade? Or does that vary along the waterway?
Will you be managing the plants? Are your plans to mow or reduce the vegetation at all throughout the year?
Thanks for your responses to my questions and look forward to working with you. Amy

Additionally, the local Soil and Water Conservation District may be able to be a resource as they have an urban conservationist - https://www.lucasswcd.org/
I hope that this helps in your planning process. Amy
