Do you think I have overwatered or could it be scab or something else I need to treat?
For watering I have been using a Treegator if/when top couple inches of soil around tree feels dry.

Check this web page and see which problem matches your leaves. Apple scab is prevalent this year because of all the wet weather. Also a deep watering done less often is better than frequent shorter watering.
