Diseased coneflowers #878217

Asked July 22, 2024, 10:32 AM EDT

I believe some of my coneflowers may have aster yellows. Should I deadhead, cut back or dig up. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Expert Response

Unfortunately, you are correct. The plants in your photos definitely have Aster Yellows disease and need to be dug out and removed, taking some soil margins with them. Bag them up and put them in the trash.
