I'm planning to can yellow peaches but looking at the case I got it says "treated with petroleum base wax to preserve freshness". I assume this is something that's done with commercial fruit now (eye roll). But are they still safe to can?

Expert Response
Yes, these peaches are still safe to can. The wax is applied to the skin of the peach to help with visual appeal as well as to keep them fresh for a longer period of time (reduce moisture loss during storage). You will remove the skin prior to canning, so this will not have any effect on the canning process.
