disease on dogwood leaves #878063

Asked July 20, 2024, 7:09 PM EDT

A friend recently bought a house with several 20-30 yr old dogwood trees. There are many black spots on the leaves and rough brown places along the margins. The trees are very large and have lots of moss growing on the trunk and limbs. Is it possibly anthracnose? there is no watering being done and no water on leaves, except of course in the spring. What do you recommend be done?
