Hello. I am wondering if I use miracle grow on my vegetable plants if it can harm butterflies and bees? I have quite a bit of milkweed, zinnias, fennel Dill etc that attracts butterflies. I have used traditional Miracle-Gro and a flower variety.
If miracle grow is a problem can you suggest another plant food I can water the garden with. Thank you..

Expert Response
Plant foods do not harm pollinators. It’s pesticides and herbicides that are harmful.
Miracle Gro or any other plant food is adding Nitrogen and probably phosphorus and potassium to your soil. These occur naturally - you’re just giving them a boost when you feed your plants.
