How and when can I prune my PeeGee Hydrangea tree. The. Branches have grown to be long and of course now budding. My thought is probably early spring but then is it still safe. I don't want to lose any flowering

PeeGee hydrangea bloom on new wood so you don't need to worry about cutting off buds.
I would prune in very early spring, that way if you suffer any winter damage you can take that into consideration.
