Crabapple disease summer 2024 #877997

Asked July 20, 2024, 9:44 AM EDT

I am noticing many crabapple trees looking wilted, loosing leaves. Three on the property where I live and many along County Road C near Roseeville City Hall. Is this a disease that can be treated and save the tree? Thank you. Laurel

Expert Response

Hi Laurel,

We have a lot of apple scab on crabapple and apple trees. It thrives in wet years. Here’s a fact sheet on scab and what you can do about it.

I hope this is helpful. Thanks!
