I am getting older and I have a ditch between the road and my lawn that is mostly dry unless there is an extremely wet period.
I would like to plant flowers in this ditch so I no longer have to mow a steep area.
I have heard that Vetch has become invasive. Is there a Vetch variety that is not invasive that I could use? Plus could you give me alternative flowers to plant in my ditch instead of Vetch.
Thank you.

Hello,
For the area you described, I would recommend native plants or ground cover. Native plants are low maintenance and adapt well to any soil conditions.
The following link from MSU Extension gives a great introduction to the use of native plants. I think it will be helpful when selecting plants for your area.

The following is a link to a website that illustrates popular native flowers for you to consider. A disclaimer: I am not promoting or suggesting that you purchase materials from this website. I only included this as a reference. A good garden center in your area would be a good choice to view these plants.
