Concerning Bug #877974

I saw this bug in our Portland garden this week and vaguely recall reading about a new invasive. to be cautious, I killed it. Take a look and let me know what you think. Thanks.

Hi Cynthia and thanks for the question and great picture, and especially for your concern about the invasive Emerald Ash Borer (EAB). Your picture shows a Green Blister Beetle, Lytta cyanipennis which, although looking much like the bad guy, is not one, thank goodness! Thanks for keeping an eye out and here's a chart you can use when you find the next suspicious beetle. Of course I love seeing what's out there, so feel free to send in more pictures!
