Help identifying this plant! #877857

I recently discovered the plant growing in our landscaping after I got lazy and wasn’t pulling weeds this year as I have in the past. I thought they might be ground cherries, but it doesn’t seem to have the height as what I have seen online (only about a foot tall).
Dakota County Minnesota
Expert Response
It looks like a ground cherry or something else in the genus Physalis (tomatillo, Chinese lantern, etc.):

Height is not necessarily a good identification marker, since height can be determined by cultivar and environmental conditions.
Were tomatillos grown in the area before? Or in compost used in that area? They reseed quite readily.
