Skunks and raccoons can wreak havoc on a well-groomed lawn. Searching for food like grubs, earthworms, and insects, they can make a mess. Getting rid of the food source is one way to reduce the damage. If they are feeding on grubs, grub control should be considered; however, make sure you have grubs before you treat. It is also important to use the chosen grub control at the appropriate time (see link). Exclusion through fencing and repellants can be helpful but may not be practical.
