Testing for pressure canners #877692

I need to have my Presto Pressure Canner (7Quart size) tested to make sure it is operating correctly. Where can I have that done in the Mid Valley?

Gauge testing is available at the Marion County Extension office from 9 AM – 3 PM or by appointment (1320 Capitol St NE Suite 110, Salem - Oregon Farm Bureau Building, 1 block north of Market Street on the corner of Capitol and Gaines). Clear Jel ($5.00 per pound, regular only, no instant) is also available at the Extension office. Call the office directly for any additional information:<personal data hidden>.

Locally, canner gauges are available seasonally at - Bi-Mart, Wal-Mart, Fred Meyer, Wilco, or Ace Hardware. Canner gauges and parts are available at Wilco and United Repair, 1081 Broadway, Salem,<personal data hidden>.

Extension certified Master Food Preserver volunteers from several counties take the calls. The hotline is available for queries on proper canning techniques, safe recipes to follow, and the locations for pressure canner gauge testing in your area.
