My lilac needs help! #877606

Asked July 17, 2024, 11:42 AM EDT

What is happening to my lilac and what should I do to help it? In the course of a week, my lilac leaves have turned brown (no spots) around the edges and throughout the leaf, and fallen. The lilac flowered well this spring, and has seemed fine. There has been no trimming, nothing different than usual. It is a mature French lilac (as I’ve always know it), probably 50 or more years old. It is in the SW corner of the lot so it gets plenty of sun. No additional watering beyond our abundant rainfall. What should I do to help my tree?
