Spots on my Magnoila Tree #877556

Asked July 16, 2024, 9:45 PM EDT

Hello! I recently planted an established Butterfly Magnoila tree and have started to see issues and spots on some of the leafs which I cannot identify. I have watered per recommendation and the tree had plenty of sunlight throughout the day.

My guess is some fungal disease, possibly Botrytis:

With all the rain this year, it is a bad year for fungal diseases. Keeping the tree's canopy open and airy by proper pruning is the best prevention for these diseases.

If the tree is newly planted, transplant shock is another (or compounding) possibility. In any case, there is not much to do now but wait and see.
