What kind of spider is this?

I can't tell if the view is ventral or dorsal.  If it is ventral then I think that it is a banded (aka whitebacked) garden spider (https://webdoc.agsci.colostate.edu/bspm/InsectInformation/FactSheets/BandedGardenSpider.pdf).  If it is dorsal, it is another, very similar garden spider.
