Expert Response

Hayee,

like I told the lady, some stems have stickers and some do not.

I tried to chop out the stump, but my axe was not too sharp and it seems to be hard wood.

the stems that have stickers and the ones that do not all seem to be from the same stump.

I bought a chain saw to cut the stumps out with, but I would like it identified before I eliminate it.

Thanks,

ken

It does look like a wild rose, most like a Prickly Wild Rose. (https://www.minnesotawildflowers.info/shrub/prickly-wild-rose)

Hayee,
Would a prickly wild rose have a hardwood stump? This has two stumps, one is about six inches diameter, the other is close to twelve inches in diameter.
Thanks a bunch! Like I said, I would like to be sure about the identity before I cut it off at ground level so that the resident of that house can mow it off regularly if he wants to.

Hey Ken,

Would you be able to take a picture with the stumps in it?

Thanks!
