I am going to start NOT by telling you what it is but by telling you how to amaze your friends by how clever and knowledgeable you are.
Go to the Google lens on your phone, snap a picture, tell it to search and Bingo Bango, you have your answer: Tall flatsedge also known as nut sedge - a real pain for farmers.
You can also go to the free apps at iNaturalist or Plant Net. I prefer the former but they are both good and just using Google lens is SO easy.
