I have been trying to rid my yard of Bermuda grass for years now my neighbors behind me have it, and I have tried to create a chemical and wood barrier. We recently put an inground pool in so our lawn was completely disrupted and we are willing to lose everything and start fresh, I have tried using round , Ornamec 170, and lastly GlyPhoSel Plus - Which has a 43.68% glycol phosphate. This is what I have found that people suggesting through my Google searches
Some of the suggestions included moving or setting your lawn on fire lol
We plan on adding a heavy layer of topsoil and either seeding or sodding late summer/early fall with fescue (which I understand can help to choke out the Bermuda grass).
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated - thanks MG

Hello,
Bermudagrass is so difficult to control even with herbicides. Control will require multiple applications of glyphosate. 3 applications is a good starting point. Nitrogen should always be added to the spray solution.
Adding topsoil overtop of actively growing bermudagrass will not guarantee the control of bermudagrass. You should anticipate bermudagrass return.
Fire will often encourage promotion of bermudagrass
Here is what I recommend you do up until you reseed in Aug/Sept.

- Purchase glyphosate
- Mix water and product to the highest label rate
- Add a surfactant to the solution if the glyphosate product does not have one included (sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't-depends on the brand name-read the label carefully)
- Add ammonium sulfate to the solution at a 1% v/v rate (36 grams of ammonium sulfate per gallon of water)
- Spray the bermudagrass every 14-21 days with the solution up until you want to establish new grass. FYI: You can spray glyphosate and seed in the same day without detriment to seed germination, if need be.
I will implement your tips - thanks!
