unknown tiny bugs #877359

Asked July 15, 2024, 4:56 PM EDT

After getting my shingles replace on my homes that same afternoon I started getting very small black bugs in my bathroom. My house has a cathedral ceiling thru the whole house The bugs bit and when I wipe them off and wash down the sink in a couple hours later there are even more. I tried spraying with Ortho home Defense and sealed the door. after 24 hours checked and they were gone.. Unfortunately, I didn't see any dead ones either. Now, 24 hours they are back.

Thanks for the question.

Sorry to hear about your bug situation. As I’m sure you can appreciate, without a picture of them I can’t provide any identification. However, please look at the following and see if there is anything at these sites that resemble what you are observing:

Two final thoughts though they are long shots:

1). When your shingles were replaced was any carpentry done that involved bringing lumber into your house?

2). How close are you to any lake and/or the St. Croix River?

Hopefully, at some point you might get a picture or two of these critters to send us.

Good Luck. Thanks for consulting with us.
