Hey, we recently got 10 acres cleared between Coos Bay and Coquille. We are looking to plant a small orchard of fruit trees that need a little pesticides and other sprays as possible. Do you have a list like that? I'd be especially interested in good apple and pear varieties for cider. Also, varieties that aren't the same old type you get in the store. Thank you for your time!

Hi,
We've got a couple of good publications that will help with your selection.
Fruit Tree Selection is the first one.
The second is Growing Tree Fruits and Nuts in the Home Orchard. Don't let the home orchard section put you off; this publication has a lot of information on varieties that will work best on the coast.
