Request for Plant Identification #877245

Hello Extension Service Representative, Please let me know what the plant in the attached photo is. I'd like to have had it grow to maturity, but it was a weed in a neighbor's flower bed that needed weeding. It seems to be related to the eggplant family. Thanks for your assistance with this. You are correct that this weed is in the Nightshade family (Solanaceae) which includes eggplants, tomatoes, peppers and potatoes, as well as poisonous plants.
In this case, we think it looks like the Maryland native plant Carolina Horsenettle, which you can see here:
