Hello Extension Service Representative,
Please let me know what the plant in the attached photo is. I'd like to have had it grow to maturity, but it was a weed in a neighbor's flower bed that needed weeding. It seems to be related to the eggplant family.

You are correct that this weed is in the Nightshade family (Solanaceae) which includes eggplants, tomatoes, peppers and potatoes, as well as poisonous plants.
