Hello, we have had problems with carpenter ants in our home, and lately we have had what looks like to us, bug carcasses that appear on only one side of our kitchen sink. We do not see any flying insects. These things range from one or two to ten or twelve. Could they be wood that the ants leave behind?

Adult ants do not molt their exoskeletons, so it cannot be from a carpenter ant. These look more consistent with a paper towel like material rather than an insect carcass or exoskeleton.
